Welcome. This is the site provided by the West Midlands Regional Education & Training Committee. Our aim is to provide one site on which our members and activists will find a wide variety of workshops, courses and learning opportunities.
The site has details of the 2018 programme of Activist Courses, aimed at workplace representatives and branch officers, and those who wish to involve themselves in the activities and campaigns of our union.
There is the 2018 programme of Membership Courses with a range of courses aimed at building up confidence, skills and knowledge both in terms of personal development and which will help members, (many of whom have not had opportunities for attending courses through their work), to keep a pace with ever changing nature of work in the 21st century.
In addition there are direct links on the Contacts Page to:
The UNISON LAOS webpage which contains UNISON's national activist programme,
The national Unionlearn/TUC site which contains a wide range of courses for union representatives, information and resources.
The Open University, with the widest range of courses and learning resources in the world.
The West Midlands site for the Workers Education Association which specialises in providing community based courses.
As a member of UNISON this is your site. Please use it and let us know what you think.
Our interactive map feature allows you to view where our courses are located in the West Midlands. For locations with several courses, only the first three are shown. To view others, click view more and you will be shown all courses available near that postcode.MAPS
