UNISON in the West Midlands is preparing to make a significant contribution to Adult Learners Week in 2013. On 22nd March the Campaign for Learning led a workshop for staff and branch activists on how to plan and deliver a learning event during this week. The Region has asked the CfL to do some research and an impact assessment of the events that have been planned across the West Midlands. This will enable the Regional Education & Training Committee to draw lessons from our experiences gained during May and apply them to future years.
To date 30 branches have confirmed they will be arranging events during this week. These will range from formal structured workshops to informal bite size sessions. Among the many topics covered will be: Disciplinary Procedures for stewards, beauticians secrets for women members, zumba dancing, trade union history and much more.
This is a great opportunity for UNISON to show its commitment to the learning of our members, and at the same time promote our union to those who have not yet joined. To learn in unison you first have to be a member
